The influence of myofascial release on pain and selected indicators of flat foot in adults: a controlled randomized trial
Abstract
Flat foot pain is a common complaint that requires therapeutic intervention. Currently, myofascial release techniques are often used in the therapy of musculoskeletal disorders. A group of 60 people suffering from flat feet with associated pain. Patients were assigned to four groups (15 people each): MF—myofascial release, E—the exercise program, MFE—myofascial release and the exercise program, C—no intervention.

Evaluating the Effects of Botulinum Toxin Injection and Physiotherapy on Post-Stroke Patients During One Year Observation – a Pilot Study
Abstract
Introduction: Stroke is a serious health problem in the modern population. Spasticity is one of the consequences of stroke and affects about 30% of people. Increased muscle tone affects postural control disorders. Due to the specificity of spasticity, therapy in post-stroke patients is a challenge for neurological physiotherapy. Therefore, it requires the development of appropriate management standards.

Effect of targeted physiotherapy on the quality of life of patients with epilepsy of unknown etiology – a pilot study
Abstract
Introduction: Epilepsy is one of the most common diseases of the central nervous system. According to the World Health Organization, it accounts for 1% of the global burden of disease worldwide. Pharmacotherapy remains the primary therapeutic tool in this disease. However, more and more emphasis is placed on approaching this group of patients in an interdisciplinary manner, taking their various needs into account: social, professional, economic or psychological.

The use of combination therapy in the treatment of lower limb spasticity among patients after stroke – a review of literature
Abstract
Stroke is not only a medical problem, but also, due to the permanent disability of patients, a significant social issue. Therefore, gait disturbances resulting from lower limb muscle spastici-ty are a common subject of research. The ambiguities in the scientific literature have become justification for the creation of this systematic review, the aim of which is to collect and ana-lyse works describing the efficacy of combination therapy – including Botulinum toxin type A injections and physiotherapy following stroke.

Selected methods of unconventional medicine and the possibilities of its usage in multiple sclerosis – analysis of the issue based on the PubMed medical database
Abstract
People with multiple or long-term multiple sclerosis often use complementary or alternative medicine (CAM). CAM is considered a controversial field of treatment by both neurologists and specialists in other fields of medicine. Nevertheless, there is growing interest in this type of treatment.

Analysis of the effects of the upper limb improvement programme in patients after ischemic stroke treated with botulinum toxin.
Abstract

Introduction: Stroke is not only a medical problem, but also – due to the permanent disability of the injured person – a significant social problem. A significant number of patients after a neurological event develop increased muscle tone. Upper motoneuron damage syndrome promotes pain, stiffness, muscle contracture and weakness, which can potentially delay or prevent success in the rehabilitation process. In the upper limb, the spastic pattern is most often expressed through adduction and internal rotation of the glenohumeral joint, combined with flexion in the elbow, radiocarpal joint and interphalangeal joints.

Back pain – analysis of risk factors and the frequency of ailment occurrences.
Abstract

The aim of the study was to analyze the risk factors of back pain in M.A. students. The study involved 150 physical therapy students from the University School of Physical Education (AWF) in Krakow and 100 applied information technology (IT) students from the Cracow University of Technology.

Early post-stroke rehabilitation in Krakow – analysis of its availability
Abstract

Introduction and aim: The aim of the study was to determine the availability and use of early stroke rehabilitation in Krakow.Material and methods: The research material was a group of 90 people (39 women and 51 men) who had suffered the neurological incident of a stroke.

The effects of physiotherapy with PNF concept on gait and balance of patients with Huntington’s disease – pilot study.
Abstract
Background and purpose

Huntington’s disease (HD) is a neurodegenerative, progressive disorder of the central nervous system which causes significant gait and balance disturbances. This is a pilot study which aims to determine the effects of a physiotherapy programme with use of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) on gait and balance in HD patients.

Assessment of Gait Therapy Effectiveness in Patients with Parkinson’s Disease on the Basis of Three-Dimensional Movement Analysis.
Abstract
OBJECTIVE:
The aim of this study was to assess the effect of physical exercise on gait pattern disorders, based on three-dimensional gait analysis in the sagittal plane in a group of people with Parkinson’s disease (PD).

Three-Dimensional Trunk and Lower Limbs Characteristics during Gait in Patients with Huntington’s Disease.
Abstract
OBJECTIVE:
A number of studies on gait disturbances have been conducted, however, no clear pattern of gait disorders was described. The aim of the study was to characterize the gait pattern in HD patients by conducting analysis of mean angular movement changes the lower limb joints and trunk (kinematics parameters).

The influence of motor ability rehabilitation on temporal-spatial parameters of gait in Huntington’s disease patients on the basis of a three-dimensional motion analysis system: An experimental trial.
Abstract
OBJECTIVE:
There is no existing standard, evidence-based, scientific model for motor ability improvement in Huntington’s Disease (HD) patients aimed at maintaining independent gait for as long as possible, or performing activities of daily living, the effectiveness of which would be supported by the results of studies using objective research tools. Under these circumstances, the aim of this study was to analyze the influence of motor ability rehabilitation on the spatial-temporal parameters of gait in HD patients.
